I am a consultant at a leading advisor on the complexity of consumer behavior with over 10 years of working in the financial services industry, and six years advising students and professionals in their career ventures. I have been a key player in launching successful financial franchises and startups since my late 20s.
I have years of experience in managerial roles, where hiring and interviewing was an important part of my job. I was the Head of Research at Trahan Macro Research, LLC. and at the Macro Specialist Designation, where I led the research team and was responsible for managing multiple financial products. Working under the tenure of U.S. top-ranked portfolio strategist based on the annual survey of Wall Street professionals for eight years largely shaped my professional career.
My collection of experiences has shaped me into a seasoned mentor and consultant, providing valuable insights to individuals navigating their professional paths. Through Echoes of Experience, LLC, I am dedicated to empowering others by sharing the wealth of knowledge gained from my diverse background.
My ultimate recipe for success has been to establish realistic goals for myself, have a purpose to strive for, align my interests with my skills, and to always be prepared. Magdalena's Development Story
Fall 2018 -- Eight years ago, Magdalena was a freshman accounting major in UWM's Lubar School of Business, juggling school and a string of part-time jobs, and sometimes struggling with grades. She graduated with a degree in finance and investment management and started on the path toward a career in New York City. Today, this daughter of immigrants is helping UWM students follow in her footsteps by funding a scholarship.
"My parents moved us here from Mexico when I was 12 so we could get an education," says Rocha Ocampo, who dramatically improved her grades after settling into finance. "It was my job as a daughter to do well."
Rocha Ocampo wants to share that legacy with dedicated UWM finance students through a scholarship established in her name. "I knew that signing a check wouldn't be enough for me," Rocha Ocampo says, "I wanted to make a contribution that would be personal and life changing." Recalling her own experiences, she created the scholarship with no minimum GPA requirement. Applicants must state their interest in investment management and also submit an essay describing how the scholarship will help them realize career goals.
